Dermaroller for Hair Growth!

Here is the derma roller and lavender oil method I have been using. I am explaining here how to correctly use derma roller without causing scarring. The massage and/or dermaroller with lavender oil (or rosemary/onion/castor) rejuvenates and stimulates the damaged or unproductive hair follicles to grow hair again.

1) The needles I use are 1.0 MM length on derma roller. Anything longer than that can be quite invasive and unsafe to use if pressed too hard. So I would suggest sticking with 1 mm or 0.5 mm as our goal is to increase blood circulation only for hair growth rather than breaking the skin for acne scar removal. Also the Lavender oil will be absorbed better and will not sting on the skin as it has not been broken down too aggressively. My extra tip will be doing it only 5 days a week and let the skin rest for two days and on weekend use any gentle moisturizer on that area. It will heal and protect the skin areas while you are trying this method.

2) Lavender oil is awesome. It is also antibacterial and antimicrobial. The brand I like is NOW for being reasonably priced and consistent quality. Now brand is widely accepted as a reputable brand. The oils are economical and still are of good quality. Ofcourse you can buy better quality oils. Young living is one of the most expensive brands and they are still not organic. Now makes organic oils also. I have used other brands such as Aura Cacia, Olympic and Naturearth. But I kept coming back to Now for the price and consistent fragrance. Sun organic seems like a newer brand and their prices seem really good, but I have not tried that brand. I have seen different brands will have different consistency, thickness and smell of lavender oil. One smelled like burnt rubber, not pleasant at all. You can definitely try different brands. I would say buy their smaller sizes first and see if you like the results. Sun organic does not seem to have USDA organic stamp on it. So I am not sure if it is really organic though. Try Now organic oil, it is certified organic, but more expensive. I buy regular kind as I use it for other purposes also.

Six Months Update!

There are few more things I learnt. Below is the video me sharing that. Some dos and donts.

3) The best time to use dermaroller is evening before bed. Rosemary and Onion Juice is also a good combo. Do not use in shower, skin is very sensitive when wet and it will cause harm at that time. You can use in the day time if you prefer. Yes definitely apply to the area which is thinning, it will rejuvenate the hair follicles in that area. You will need to include more Iron, Biotin in your diet to combat MPB (Male Pattern Baldness). DHT can reduce with better internal diet and exercise. Yes you can use dermaroller regularly until you see results and keep it for maintenance using fewer days. One thing is don’t overdo it, it will make your skin too sensitive and cause scarring. Stick with only 5 days a week. Use gentle moisturizer on weekend to help skin heal.

4) Onion juice for hair growth? It rich in Sulphur and Vit C and it increases blood circulation to the hair/scalp area and provides nutrients to the hair follicles to make them stronger. It is great for treating dandruff and also it is antibacterial. The key is to keep your scalp clean and avoid inflammation. (Caution Onion juice can be quite corrosive to the skin if one has sensitive skin, oiling your hair along with onion juice treatment may be necessary to prevent dryness and flaking) I will be posting another video with more tips to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss. One thing you should not do is to over wash your hair, not more than twice a week, but equally important to keep your scalp clean, free from dirt and bacterial buildup. I will talk about that in my next video. I will also demonstrate an ancient yoga technique (super easy to do) to promote hair regrowth. I know that it onion juice works well for women and men (who have baldness on the top of crown of the head), but they have to apply the onion juice for at least 6 months to see good results. Natural remedies take time and consistent effort. Also the process of juicing onions and smell is a turn off for many people. You can also get good benefits by adding sulphur rich foods in your diet. You can definitely try onion juice instead of Lavender oil. My tips would be:
a) Do not use blender for juicing onions, instead grate them and squeeze the juice with a spoon.
b) To reduce the smell, mix some Lemon and/or Orange and/or Rosewater.
c) You can also add some castor oil and/or honey and/or coconut oil.
You can have this mixture prepared and keep it in fridge to save time, but discard it every week and make new one.
The white stuff residue is called ‘Onion Dandruff effect’ It is just milky/dried residue of the onion juice. It should wash out with a gentle shampoo. But if you do have actual dandruff then mix coconut oil with lavender oil and massage gently in the whole head and leave it on whole night the days before you are going to wash your hair. It will get rid of dandruff and make your hair soft and shiny :). I do this treatment often and it really works well.

5) Minoxidil? It is a chemical with 20 to 30% success rate for regrowth and it mostly works with male pattern baldness usually the top of the head,  not the hairline. Also it can have serious side effects such as dizziness, unexpected weight gain and yes even hair loss from using it. So I would not recommend using any unnatural chemical. I understand you might want results faster, but I think better to go for more natural route.

6) Castor oil/Emu oil I have heard many people having great results with castor oil as well. I have tried Emu oil for my face to prevent acne, but it clogged my pores, so I stopped using it on my face. But Emu oil makes hair really soft, I have tried that and I liked it with the left over oil I had.

7) Saw Palmetto I have personally not tried Saw Palmetto, but based on the some articles and online information, it seems promising, the only things with some supplements, they may cause mood swings and hormonal or other adverse changes in some people. So herbal supplements are something you only know if they work or not by trying and monitoring your body and other changes over a period of time.
